Why So Many Translations?
You may have noticed that in the dozens of quotations from scripture that have been referenced throughout Pathway to Serenity there are various translations. That does not mean that they are not from the Bible. That simply means that there are different ways of saying the same thing. I chose to use various translations so as not to limit the impact of your reading experience. For those who regularly read the Bible, this is a way to open up a scripture that you may have read several times in the past and get a new spin on it. So as to not be stuck in the familiarity of a verse. For others, some translations are difficult to understand, so I have chosen some of my favorites that speak clearly. Some of the various verse translations were selected purely because they best captured the feeling of the verse I was trying to relay. I hope you enjoy the scripture selections you’ve found and that God’s Word has been opened up to you like never before. Don’t let your journey into the Word stop here—let it start here. Realize that the Bible is our instruction book for life and it is filled with beautiful words that can nurture, increase, encourage, educate and guide us.
